All of these plastics arrive at their door as small pellets, which are melted and formed into component shapes using a process known as injection molding. Injection molding is the highest form of plastic forming. Injection molding produces solid parts that are intrinsically stronger compared to other processes like blow molding and vacuum forming, which produce hollow parts. Injection molding also offers superior intricacy, allowing detail to be created on an object's outer and inner surfaces. The pellets are drawn into a heavy syringe-like cylinder where they are melted and injected into a steel mold at high pressure and allowed to cool. The mold then opens, and the newly formed part is ejected and sent on its way to be assembled into one of their products. Underwater Kinetics has a large family of molding machines that are equivalent to that of a small car, up to a giant truck. All molding machines are tended to by a skilled group of molding specialists and robots.
